Elephant Car Wash

Internet said there was self-service. I was looking for the Car Wash where you wash it yourself. And I don't see that anywhere around here. So I made a long trip from federal way for nothing.

I paid $34 for a car wash and was extremely disappointed with the service. My car was not properly cleaned at all—there were still many spots on the exterior, bird droppings were left untouched, and the dashboard was covered in dust. Honestly, I could have cleaned it much better myself. When I brought this up, the staff member I spoke with was very rude and unwelcoming. She told me they don’t clean the door areas, even though the service poster clearly states otherwise. That was frustrating and unprofessional. Overall, the customer service was poor, and the quality of the wash did not match the price. It seems like the wrong people are being hired for customer-facing roles. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to others.

Although I have used Elephant car wash several times at different locations and would give them 5 stars, I had a totally different experience yesterday. I did my research. I even called and was told that the Pacific location was just like Covington. But far from it, even though the prices were identical...expensive for what I got. I went there because it was closer than Covington. So the next time I thought I would save some money and use the self wash in Auburn. What a disaster. It was difficult figuring out the payments system. Then, it keeps adding time and charges until you push stop on the little keypad. We couldn't get it to stop charging until it added $2 more. We pushed and pushed stop. I'll drive to Covington next time.

I was frustrated with the very awful pay system and ready to drive away when Saymo saw me start my car to leave. I was here to wash/rinse off my tractor and the crappy card reader wouldn’t accept any of my cards. Saymo came all the way across the lot, dropping what he was doing, and offered assistance. He tried to help with the crappy card reader and when that didn’t work I told him I would use tokens but I couldn’t find the token machine. He walked me to it and it didn’t make change and I only had a twenty. He went into the supply room with a solution of tokens and change. We need more like Saymo. He flipped me from being angry and likely avoiding this location to writing this long positive review. Well done.
